Etherpad experience
The day after finding and looking more into etherpad, I personally came acrossed an oportunity to use it myself in a classroom. We were put into groups and had a two paragraph response to some questions that we needed to come up with, which then needed to be posted on our wiki site. Instead of just coming up with our ideas and having one person type them up, I suggested that we try using the Etherpad website, this way we could all see what was being typed and not just one person would be responsible. It worked great! Many of the students in my group enjoyed using this tool and made a point in bookmarking themselves for future use.

I love when things come full circle. All of this is pretty overwhelming so it is nice to hear that you found it so useful. I've never used etherpad before but it sounds similar to using a GoogleDoc. I've done this several times and have found it very useful for collaborative purposes.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lauren, full circle is a great way to describe your expereince. Not to mention that actually using the technology in another class will really help make it more meaning full to you and help you to remember it. I am going to look into Etherpad now :)
ReplyDeleteYes it was perfect timing and was able to make use of looking into the particular tool. It does seem to be similar to Google Docs however, Etherpad is in real time, so everything happens right in front of you as it is being done!
